My research focused on investigating differences in speech acoustic parameters of clinically depressed and non-depressed adolescents so as to support automatic diagnosis and early detection of depression. Efficient algorithms were developed in MATLAB to extract the acoustic features and a comprehensive statistical analysis was conducted.

My final year project involved the control a horizontal-axis wind turbine power generator. I designed 2 types of controllers, mainly the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) and Model Predictive Control (MPC) to regulate the speed of a wind turbine so as to increase the overall efficiency of power generation. A simulation was conducted in MATLAB Simulink.
